Science, research and cooperation at the centre of T-DO SCI discussions in Paris
The Advisory Group on Science (T-DO SCI) of the Monitoring Group of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention met in Paris on 29-30 September 2026, bringing together experts and representatives from national antidoping organisations, public authorities, laboratories and international sports bodies.
The two-day meeting addressed a range of current scientific and policy issues in antidoping. Discussions included the T-DO contribution to the 2027 Prohibited List consultation, a dedicated roundtable on different perspectives on cannabinoids, and good practices in the handling of contamination cases.
Participants also reviewed the outcomes of the 2026 International Conference on Limiting the Availability of Doping Substances in Europe: A Shared Responsibility, discussed the coordination of research activities and antidoping data tools, and considered laboratory standards and approaches aimed at preventing unintentional doping.
The meeting brought together representatives from across Europe and beyond, including national antidoping organisations, scientific institutions, WADA, the Athletics Integrity Unit and other stakeholders, underlining the multidisciplinary nature of contemporary antidoping work.
For IPSEI, the meeting reflects the increasingly important role of science, research and international cooperation in shaping responses to emerging challenges in antidoping and sport integrity.
