The architecture of integrity depends on inclusive science
Integrity is not a sentiment. It is an engineering challenge.
We often speak of sport integrity as a set of values. In reality, it is a complex architecture built on the cold, hard foundations of science. It is built in anti-doping laboratories, in data analytics centers, and through deep sociological research. If the science is weak, the integrity is an illusion.
Why does inclusion matter? Because a system is only as strong as the perspectives it integrates.
When we exclude women from the scientific foundations of sport, we aren’t just failing at equality—we are failing at intelligence. We are intentionally limiting our vision. A monolithic scientific community creates institutional blind spots, leaving the door open for risks that haven’t been calculated and threats that haven’t been seen.
Inclusive science is the ultimate safeguard.
True integrity requires a 360-degree view of the problem. On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science, IPSEI recognizes that the resilience of sport depends on the diversity of the minds analyzing it. We don’t need inclusion for the sake of a photo-op; we need it because the architecture of trust requires every possible angle of expertise to stay standing.
Architecture determines durability. Inclusive science determines strength.
In an era of sophisticated threats, we cannot afford to look at the world with one eye closed.
